As part of a continued effort to improve the Office experience across devices and platforms, Microsoft has just announced the immediate availability of Office 2016 for Mac now available in 139 countries and 16 languages.
The 5 Desktop applications available today are Word for Mac, Excel for Mac, PowerPoint for Mac, Outlook for Mac and OneNote for Mac. Mac users will now be able to experience the familiar Office look and feel including the ribbon interface and task panes. In addition, Office for Mac is also cloud-connected, so users can quickly get to the documents they’ve recently used on other devices and pick up where they’ve left off without having to worry about losing content or formatting as Office for Mac is now finally compatible with Office on PCs, tablets, phones and online. This is particularly good news for students who often start their projects on one device or software version at school and often need to finish it on another device or software version at home.
All current Office 365 subscribers can get the newest version of Office for Mac today. Just go to your account page at (office.com/myaccount), sign in and follow the installation instructions. If you have Office 365 through your organization, go to portal.office.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx.
Students who are enrolled at qualifying schools can still get Office 2016 for Mac for free or at a substantial discount at office.com/student or go to office.com/mac to buy an Office 365 subscription.
